We are putting together a list of potential speakers for 2018.  Please comment here if you have a suggestion for a topic or speaker.

How about an economist with data on SWMI?  Maybe someone from the Upjohn Institute?  The RPOA economist was interesting from GVSU.  Just a thought.

    Thanks Jason.

I actually just sent an email last week inviting Dr Isely from GVSU. Will keep you posted.

For now we have Deb Miller from the City of Kalamazoo inspection service in March. Followed by a note broker in April or May.

Any other suggestions from the general membership would be greatly appreciated

Have you ever had Justin Workman come and speak? He teaches a rehab class through RPOA. He does rehabs and holds them for rentals. He does some flips, too. I could ask him if he's interested, if you think it would be a good fit.

Brandon Krieg teaches a wholesaling class. He might be an interesting speaker.

I'd like to hear more about investing in apartment complexes. Brian Hamrick, the podcast guy, teaches an RPOA class about that.

While it's too late for this year, but learning about the property tax assessment and appeal process would be useful (including the Mathieu-Gast act form). Tom Koetsier teaches an RPOA class on that and might be willing to give a talk on that. That could save actual dollars for property owners.

Private money lender, Chuck Bailey, might be willing to speak about seller financing and lending for flips or rentals. He's been in the business a long time. I heard him speak at the RPOA landlord breakfast about a year ago.

Panel discussion on each of these topics: flipping, landlord, strong leases, how to do it right, what not to do. I really got a lot out of one of my first meetings listening to Jen and a gentleman each talk about their history/approach and what got them to where they now are. So a panel-type talk with real folks with real experiences sharing with us and answering questions.
